Converse College’s MFA in Creative Writing is a two-year co-educational, low-residency graduate program enables serious independent writers to hone their abilities through an apprentice-mentoring relationship with award-winning writers. ┬áThe program’s hallmark is a balance of intensive residency classroom experiences with courses and lectures in Fiction, YA, Environmental Writing, Poetry, and Creative Non-fiction, followed by a challenging and individually designed mentoring experience with a professional writer while you work, write, and study in your hometown.

The student-faculty ration that never exceeds 5:1 enables creative (and critical) collaboration between students and mentors in this stimulation and supportive community of writers.
